Linear ball bearings and linear plain bearings are available in open or closed designs. The open design has a segment cut out and is intended for supported shafts.

Several series allow, in conjunction with the corresponding housings, adjustment of the radial clearance in order to achieve clearance-free or preloaded guidance systems.
