SKF Bearings,Units And Housings

SKF started with a bearing, and to this day is still a world leader in the design and manufacture of rolling and plain bearings. Here you will find our full assortment, including a wide variety of bearing units and bearing housings.

SKF Deep groove ball bearings:

Deep groove ball bearings are particularly versatile. They are suitable for high and very high speeds, accommodate radial and axial loads in both directions and require little maintenance.Because deep groove ball bearings are the most widely used bearing type, they are available from SKF in many designs, variants and sizes.

SKF Insert bearings (SKF Y-bearings):

Insert bearings (SKF Y-bearings) are based on sealed deep groove ball bearings in the 62 and 63 series, but have a convex outer ring and in most cases an extended inner ring with a specific locking device, enabling quick and easy mounting onto the shaft.

SKF Angular contact ball bearings:

Angular contact ball bearings have inner and outer ring raceways that are displaced relative to each other in the direction of the bearing axis. This means that these bearings are designed to accommodate combined loads, i.e. simultaneously acting radial and axial loads.
The axial load carrying capacity of angular contact ball bearings increases as the contact angle increases. The contact angle is defined as the angle between the line joining the points of contact of the ball and the raceways in the radial plane, along which the combined load is transmitted from one raceway to another, and a line perpendicular to the bearing axis.

Self-aligning ball bearings:

Self-aligning ball bearings have two rows of balls, a common sphered raceway in the outer ring and two deep uninterrupted raceway grooves in the inner ring. They are available open or sealed.

Bearing features:

Accommodate static and dynamic misalignment
The bearings are self-aligning like spherical roller bearings or CARB bearings.
Excellent high-speed performance
Self-aligning ball bearings generate less friction than any other type of rolling bearing, which enables them to run cooler even at high speeds.
Minimum maintenance
Due to low heat generation the bearing temperature is lower, leading to extended bearing life and maintenance intervals.
Low friction
Very loose conformity between balls and outer ring keeps friction and frictional heat at low levels.
Excellent light load performance
Self-aligning ball bearings have low minimum load requirements.
Low noise
Self-aligning ball bearings can reduce noise and vibrations levels, for example, in fans.

Thrust ball bearings:

SKF thrust ball bearings are manufactured as single direction or double direction thrust ball bearings. They are designed to accommodate axial loads only and must not be subjected to any radial load.

Angular contact thrust ball bearings:

SKF angular contact thrust ball bearings are separable, i.e. the washers and ball and cage assemblies can be mounted independently of each other. Although originally designed to support the rotary tables of drilling rigs, they are also suitable for other applications.

Roller bearings

SKF roller bearings are available in various cross sections and satisfy a huge variety of operating conditions and performance requirements.

Cylindrical roller bearings

Single row cylindrical roller bearings
High-capacity cylindrical roller bearings
Double row cylindrical roller bearings
Four-row cylindrical roller bearings
Single row full complement cylindrical roller bearings
Double row full complement cylindrical roller bearings
Split cylindrical roller bearings

Needle roller bearings

SKF needle roller bearings are bearings with cylindrical rollers that are small in diameter relative to their length. The modified roller/raceway profile prevents stress peaks to extend bearing service life.

Tapered roller bearings
Spherical roller bearings
CARB toroidal roller bearings
Cylindrical roller thrust bearings
Needle roller thrust bearings

Bearing housings:

An SKF Bearing housing, together with appropriate SKF bearings constitute economic, interchangeable bearing units that meet the demand for designs that are easy to maintain.

As a leading supplier of rolling bearings, SKF also produces bearing housings in a wide range of designs and sizes that are based on experience collected in all industrial areas.
